Canada Day Festivities

Here is a list of all the great Canada Day festivities that are occurring on Monday, July 1st in the Bluenose Coast. Be sure to join in on the celebrations, make new friends, celebrate with old friends, and of course wear the colours red & white with pride!

Peggy’s Cove

 -Sou’Wester Restaurant 1-3pm : There will be musical entertainment by The Saunders Brothers Show on the bandstand, face painting, and a giant birthday cake! There will also be a BBQ, and beverage available.

 Hubbards

-Ceilidh on The Cove (Shore Club) 6pm *JUNE 30* : Enjoy local traditional entertainment, BBQ, giant birthday cake, and fireworks will commence at dusk.

-Second Annual Canada Day Celebration (Aspotogan Heritage Trust) 11am-2pm : There will be carnival games for kids, face painting, & a BBQ

-Classic Country Show (Shore Club) 7pm

Chester & Area

-CANADA DAY BREAKFAST (Chester Legion) 7:30 to 10:30 am : Enjoy a delicious breakfast, and make new friends.

– 1:00pm Flag Raising Ceremony at the Legion

-1:15 pm there will be a walk around Chester.

-Kite Flying Contest (Graves Island Provincial Park) 12pm-3pm : Come out and fly kites with everyone. Registration is from 12-1pm.

New Germany

Join the community of new Germany for a day full of family fun!

930am-Children’s Parade

1pm-Canada Day Ox Pull

2pm-Annual Street Parade-

4pm-Garden Party

-Train rides, bouncy castles, concessions offering cotton candy, curly fries, etc.

5pm- National Anthem

– Followed by cake and musical entertainment

1030- FIREWORKS

Lunenburg

-Community Picnic (250th anniversary park, behind the Fire Hall) : Musical Entertainment by Mid Life Crisis, and free hot dogs, hamburgers, juice and fruit.

-Celebrate Canada’s Birthday with the Fisheries Museum of The Atlantic

-Play a trivia game about Canada, sign Canada’s birthday card, design your own flag, and face painting.

Bridgewater

-Join Bridgewater for a day full of fun activities for the entire family!

-730am-1130am- Legion Breakfast (Bridgewater Fire hall)

-9am-1pm- Kids Triathlon

-2pm- Washer Toss Tournament

-230pm- Kite Club Demo

-3pm-Trivia Game

-4pm- Flat Line Martial Arts

-5pm- Cake Cutting and open mic

-7pm-9pm- musical entertainment

-9pm-10pm- Video Dance

-10pm- National Anthem

-1015pm-FIREWORKS
